This is the story of my children, Mathilde (8 years) and Nicolas (5 years) who were saddened by the death of Darwin, five months ago, due to cancer. He was eight years old too.
After visiting the SPA refuges, the children decided to help the animals "on their own scale" by raising awareness and encouraging people to donate used towels and blankets for dogs and cats so that they are not cold.
Numerous awareness-raising activities, posters (children's drawings), distribution of posters in the shops, presentation of the movement in schools (Mathilde's passage in the nursery and elementary classes to talk about the initiative Darwin Forever).
The operation "Panier de Noël" in December for the Refuge de l'espoir in Mougins / SPA met with great success: more than a hundred blankets were collected, 100 toys for each dog and cat of the shelter, thanks to our partner Villaverde. The operation was a success and resulted in 25 adoptions! According to the Director of the Refuge, there are usually 2 to 5 adoptions during this period.
Given the enthusiasm and dynamism of both young and old who follow us on our facebook page (more than 420 subscribers to date), we continue our actions to help animals of the refuges and of homeless people.
